Field Notes

Description:

A neighbor's pet Angora Rabbit wandered into our yard, startling our cat who sniffed at it, then ran away.
The Angora rabbit (Turkish: Ankara tavşanı) is a variety of domestic rabbit bred for its long, soft wool. The Angora is one of the oldest types of domestic rabbit, originating in Ankara (historically known as Angora), Turkey, along with the Angora cat and Angora goat. The rabbits were popular pets with French royalty in the mid 18th century, and spread to other parts of Europe by the end of the century. They first appeared in the United States in the early 20th century.

Comments (2)

We have 13 cats and none of them wanted to get too close. This one, a 5-year old female who is very sweet, got the closest. But as soon as the rabbit jumped, she skeedaddled away pretty fast!
What was the cat's reaction? She looks like ready to attack at any second
