spotted this one after flooding. Walgett is a semi arid zone.
Rare to see them here

Lori, I looked it up and indeed they escaped from a zoo in FL and have successfully naturalized. Although my book did not list a subspecies, it said they were all the grey-headed race and likely from India. Thanks for that info!
ceherzog, in Florida you have the sub-species P. p. poliocephalus, which was introduced, probably from India.
We have this species in Florida, too, where it is also uncommon.
