Description:
Owl butterflies are very large, 65–200 millimetres (2.6–7.9 in), and fly only a few metres at a time, so avian predators have little difficulty in following them to their settling place

I spotted this hiking in Cockscomb Reserve also known as the Jaguar Reserve. It was the world's first forest reserve set up specifically to protect the jaguar, back in 1990. Even though I didn't see a jaguar there, the reserve was one of my favorite places in Central America.
