Field Notes

Description:

Small brown finch with dark beak lore and eye, and a beautiful black and white speckled side.

Habitat:

Overgrown yard, sitting in trees.

Notes:

Lifer! when I saw this small flock of birds flying around my neighbors yard, I didn't really think anything of it, I asumed it was just a house finch but for some reason I felt the need to photograph it. I wouldn't stop till I got an "ok' photo, after looking at the photos I realised that it wasn't a house finch, and that it could possibly be a Nutmeg Mannikin (Scaly-breasted munia). So I took a few more shots, And was pleased to see that it was indeed what i hoped it would be, after looking over my photos.
