Description:
A day flying moth in the family Zygaenidae, black with 5 red spots (only 4 are visible on this dorsal view). The majority of zygaenids are tropical, but they are also well represented in temperate regions.
Habitat:
Alpine meadow, alt. 1100m
Notes:
For Moth Week 2016.
Identification: spots 3 and 4 are unfused. Spot 3 is smaller than spot 4. The antennae are long and slender, and slightly clavate and tapered
