Field Notes

Description:

A medium size wasp with reddish wings and antennae. The legs are yellowish - the abdomen is mostly yellow with thin black rings - thorax is mostly black with thin yellow lines - head is black and yellow and the eyes are shinny brown with dark spots. This species is highly variable in appearance.

Habitat:

Spotted foraging for nectar on a rubber rabbitbush plant.
