Description:

Brown, papery-looking. Has three dark stripes and dots in between the stripes. Also has a dark hole in it.

Habitat:

Urban garden

Notes:

This is the cocoon of a butterfly, which on the tree looks like a dried up leaf (that's what the second picture is of, for reference). Sadly, this one has probably been parasitized by another organism, judging by the dark hole in the cocoon. But, that's the circle of life.
