Forest in Jacksonvillle, FL

Hey there, this is actually the larvae of a sawfly! Not a caterpillar at all. I think you can tell by the front legs. I'm not sure exactly what type of sawfly though.. I'll look into it
I think it just had this one! The stripe on this one was actually a pretty shade of blue too! The trees around it were pine trees and cypress trees from what I remember
Did the caterpillar has a black stripe down its other side as well? I found a caterpillar today that looks very similar to this one. Any idea what types of trees were nearby?
