Description:
A large web-weaving spider found on Islands in the Western Pacific. This one was about 7cm long. The females (pictured) have this beautiful, striking yellow and black abdomen, while males are brown and don't grow bigger than about 2cm.
Habitat:
Native to islands in the Western Pacific.
Notes:
I was rushing to get ready for a dive, when I spotted this. I was in such a hurry, I didn't want to take my camera out of the underwater housing, and didn't realise until I was on the boat heading to the dive site that the housing had steamed up a bit! So this photo came out blurry sadly. Still a gorgeous spider, and I was the only one who would get close to it.
