Field Notes

Description:

Males have distinctive metallic green head and mostly grey backs. Females are brown. Both have blue/purple stripe on wings.

Habitat:

Any open water from lakes and ponds to large puddles.

Notes:

Very common duck and easily recognisable to most people.
