Field Notes

Description:

You can see the mother bird on the fence. It's been difficult to get a photo of her, as she's very watchful. She (or another of the same bird) builds a nest under our deck every spring. There are four beautiful eggs in the nest this year. It will be crowded as the chicks grow. Once hatched, I'll get photos of the babies.

Notes:

28.4.11 Photo of the eggs.
29.4.11 Could tell the eggs must have hatched based on the behaviour of the mother. Turns out only one has hatched so far.
3.5.11 Three have hatched and they're getting big.
7.5.11 I guess only three. They look completely different than they did 4 days ago.
13.5.11 And they've fledged.
