Field Notes

Description:

The adult male (tom) is in front showing his red throat and wattle. The females (hens) are behind him in the pic. Both sexes have beautiful iridescent plumage (hens are slightly duller).

Habitat:

Spotted in the foothills of the Cascade mountains. The population and range of Wild turkeys has certainly expanded on the east side of the Cascade mountains in Washington state.
