Habitat:

Large freshwater marshes, prairie ponds, and marshy tundra

Notes:

The adult pair of sandhill cranes are often seen around the pond at the office. As I was leaving work one afternoon, the entire family was taking a stroll down the sidewalk. I was thrilled that I had remembered to put my camera in the car that morning.

Excuisite ~ it's not easy to get pix and with chicks (probably have a nomenclature like cygnet which i don't know) but still a dandy spotting. i must conclued from your notes Felieca, that this is not a migrating pair of Sandhill's ~ they hang out year round there. Also the rusty buff color of breeding Sandhills in Southcentral Montana and the Central Flyaway is missing or has worn off now that the kids are growing :) So will the kids fly north like they're supposed too or stay in Florida?
