Field Notes

Description:

Cape Barren Goose, also known as Pig Goose. 75-90cm in size, Grey colouring with dark spots on wings. Black bill covered in light green cere. Red or pink legs.

Habitat:

South-east coast of Australia, SE Victoria, Southern coast of WA. Scrub, grasslands and islands.

Notes:

Lay 3-6 eggs, builds nest from twings and down, feeds on grass and herbs.
