Very cool. I just read they are mildly venomous but not considered dangerous.
It's a Dwarf Crowned Snake hatchling - Cacophis krefftii
yeah, me either. but Diadophis is a no go
Diadophis punctatus is native to North America and the head morphology is all wrong. I don't know Australian snakes very well so I can't suggest an ID.
