Dragon Fly larvae in our pool. Erina NSW Australia

According to my copy of the The Waterbug Book, it looks like a larvae in the Dytiscidae family (diving beetle).
Ah, I know your pain there. I had a heck of a time getting insects to stay in one place today when I was looking for some. It would be helpful to have a better picture of this one's head, but this picture's fine too. Once I find my ID book, I'll come back to this one and see if I can get it down to order, at least.
I do have some more but they are all at this angle. There were lots of them in the pool but none would pose very well for me.
I don't think this is a dragonfly larva: the eyes aren't prominent enough, the body structure is too streamlined, and dragonfly larvae don't really have tails like that. If you do a Google search, you'll see what I mean. I'm not sure what kind of aquatic larvae it is, I can't seem to find my ID guide around, but I'll keep looking and see what I can find out. Do you have anymore pictures of this insect?
