Description:
Locally known as 'Šarag', Sargo or white seabream is a very common dweller close to shores, occurring most of the time in mixed shoals. White seabream is silvery grey fish with more or less noticeable vertical darker stripes, and a well developed black spot at the base of tail. All observed were some 15 - 20 cm long.
Habitat:
Widespread in East Atlantic and Mediterranean sea, Sargo is a very common fish in Adriatic, occurring close to shores. This summer (as each and every summer) we observed it on every beach in the area, between rocks and on rocky bottoms in shallow waters close to shores.
