whoa dude, thank you so much.. i've been holding on to these pics forever and just never knew what to do with them.. i found it in a grocery store parking lot and brought it to my apt for the pics and than let it just fly away, ha..
Beautiful find! This is the biggest moth in North America, I'm hoping to see one this summer. The caterpillars feed on maple trees, wild cherry trees, and birch. Yours looks to be a male, judging from the antennae. The males have much thicker antennae than the females, in order to pick up chemical pheromones of the female.
