Field Notes

Description:

Glassy green beetle, with many setae (hairs) on its ventral side. Has clubbed antennae. The middle coxae are separated from one another, and the scuttelum is completely exposed.

Habitat:

Urban

Notes:

Thanks to a beetle guide I bought in Costa Rica, I was able to identify this one to species. It was flying around my house, so I caught it and put it outside. Whenever it was flying, the sound it made was louder than a bumblebee (think helicopter). Kind of intimidating!
