Three white petals tend to stand upright

Oak and ash forest, wetland

Notes:

This trillium is different from the Trillium ovatum we have on the coast

This species is highly variable. Oftentimes the petals are a maroon color! It is differentiated from T. ovatum by the flowers location sessile to the leaves. As you know T. ovatum flowers are on little stalks.
