Field Notes

Description:

This is a large goose with a predominately brown body, white rump and underparts, black tail and a black neck and head with a white chinstrap. Bill is black as are the feet. Both sexes similar.

Habitat:

Wetlands, lakes, ponds. Many have become quite habituated to humans and are found in city parks and green spaces. Essentially they need water and grass (on which they graze).
