Field Notes

Description:

Tan, blue and black leafhopper. "The literature suggests S. majestus but the description stresses a black face and does not mention the distinctive diagonal stripe on the wing tips; however, the description is based solely on males, and the differences may be characteristic only of the female. We have a similar specimen from Mexico, but it lacks an abdomen." - Andy Hamilton

Habitat:

This hopper was on an unknown leaf in Balboa Park
