I think this one was injured. Notice how the wing is sticking out on the side. It also seemed to not be able to close its wing covers.

Great pictures! This is a tiger beetle, which aren't too difficult to identify. Check out Bugguide.net for species that occur in Georgia and you should be able to figure it out. :)
