Field Notes

Description:

Turkeys are predominantly black, brown and tan. Toms have blue heads, fading to pinkish red on wattles.

Habitat:

Sacramento region into foothills of Sierra Nevada.

Notes:

A large group of these turkeys live in and around my country neighborhood. They are a common sight walking down the streets, and these two were in my front yard.
