Field Notes

Description:

Mottled brown body with brown eyes and large vertical pupils. Its underside looks to have a greenish hue, and the end of its toes have an orange spot.

Habitat:

Urban house

Notes:

From what I've read online, it seems to be a type of house gecko. They make loud clicking sounds to communicate, and generally scurry around eating insects. I watched this one try to take down a small scarab beetle, but couldn't quite seal the deal.

great description!great spotting!
I had an indoors gecko for awhile when we lived in Sarasota. At first I fed him meal worms and then later he moved out to the lanai and seemed to find enough to eat. Mine was not as large as this one.
