Field Notes

Description:

This mushroom perfectly represents the weather we've been having in northwestern Connecticut....Super dry and crusty. It was 8cm tall, had a brown cracked cap, dingy cream-colored pores, and a cream/brown stem. The bottom of the stem looks like it had scabers, so this may be Leccinum sp.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.
