Piper Plant
Piper sp.
25.3, 91.7
Field Notes
Description:
Piperaceae, is most closely related to the lizardtail family (Saururaceae), which in fact generally look like smaller, more delicate and amphibious pepper plants. Both families have characteristic tail-shaped inflorescences covered in tiny flowers.
Habitat:
rainforest
Notes:
Spotted this on my way to the famous rootbridge of Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places in the world. Thankfully, most of it comes during the wet season. I was there in the dry and didn't see a drop.
