Thank you both for your posts, I learned a lot from you two. I hope we can share more in the future. I never thought I'd see anything like that, it was heart breaking.
To the deceased: I grieve for you little one, of your untimely death, and so does your mate. I pray that he will find someone else to bring back his happiness of Living.
Thank you for more of the story. It is not normal for a healthy bird like that to be huddled on the ground. He was definetly in mourning.
It's horrible it was staring right at the dead one two feet away, I wish I got that pic, I moved the male under a tree an now he is gone
