Field Notes

Description:

Black on top more grey on side toward underbelly. About 4 inches long from head to tail (guesstimate). Thin. Amphibian skin - not a skink for sure.

Habitat:

Underground burrow starting under strawberry planter on grass.

Notes:

Found 2 salamanders in back yard. One smaller than the other. The little one went into s hole/tunnel in the ground. Pic is bad but you can see the body of the larger one to the right of the slug & next to the grey brick. Guess I'll be leaving the strawberry planter were it is.
