Field Notes

Description:

large scorpion, about 6" in length, shiny dark blue

Habitat:

monsoon forest

Notes:

This scorpion was seen walking around the guesthouse at Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary. Unfortunately, one of the other guests stepped on its tail. I'm not sure if it was by accident or not but by the time I saw it, it was half dead and ants were attacking it. It was really disappointing, I haven't seen many scorpions at all and I thought this was a great find until I had a closer look and saw the rough shape it was in.
