Field Notes

Description:

Black with yellow stripe and markings.

Notes:

I observed a Metallic Sweat Bee with it's head in an old Carpenter Bee hole. Then the wasp came along and chased the bee away and started going into the hole. The Weevil Wasp is known to prey on the Emerald Ash Weevil and is soil nesting. So was the wasp attracted to the emerald colored bee or was it nesting in the old Carpenter bee hole? I have not seen either of them around the hole since.
