Description:
The Eastern Amberwing is a tiny, wide ranging species. The male can be easily identified by its orange wings. Females have a variable wing pattern of brown and orange. Both sexes have two pale yellowish stripes on each side of the brown thorax and a ringed abdomen. It looks and acts somewhat like a wasp.
Habitat:
City retention pond.
