Field Notes

Description:

The Resurrection Lilly grows from a bulb. The foliage emerges early in the spring and then dies back. In August - September shoots that can be up to two feet emerge and 4-7 funnel shaped blossoms appear.

Habitat:

Grows well in sun or partial shade. Most often seen in home gardens. This is the first time I have spotted this in a woodland habitat.

Notes:

I was surprised to see this growing in the woodland area where I hike. There were probably twenty to twenty-five plants that covered about a five square foot area.
