I'm glad I helped and you're right, here we can learn from each other thank you fro joining! :)
There is almost 10 subspecies of Tayra, so I don't think we can identify it by color. I'm thinking Eira barbara inserta, take a look a this photo: http://bit.ly/jW3TqU
The animal seemed to me to be larger. I saw no white patch under the neck and the tail seems longer and sleeker...the ears are set higher on the head rather than off to the side...but I may be wrong...
And the long neck. The Jaguarundi looks more like a cat.
I agree with Carolina. the bushy tail is a characteristic of the Tayra....
Matthew are you sure it was a Jaguarundi? It looks like a Tayra to me! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tayra
