Field Notes

Description:

Similar species occurs in Himalayas.. My specimens resembles very closely to Sinna floralis. In Moths of Borneo (http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-18/ariolicini/ariolicini_2_2.php) distribution of the species is restricted to Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.

I am doubtful that my species is S. floralis and could be a new record for Bhutan and range extension for this species to Himalayas. Need further investigation on the ID of this species.

Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
