Habitat:

Found in large field of mowed grass.

Notes:

I was walking down a sidewalk and saw something flying away. I thought it was a wasp carrying it's prey as it was struggling to fly. When I looked closer I saw that it was a Robber Fly carrying a wasp. A beautiful wasp it was. Black with a red abdomen.

There are many similar species of Robber Fly in this genus. My pictures didn't show enough different views for me to identify it.
