At Ella Bay the Cassowary Family comes down the beach every day! Last year with their chicks!
They must have gotten used to people.
There are always a few on the beach in Ella Bay and I have seen them in Mission Beach too
Was this right out in the open on the beach? The only one I've ever seen in the wild was in the Daintree, hidden in the rain forest underbrush.
