Description:

about 1.5" long, black and white, very furry

Habitat:

transition zone between cerrado and atlantic coast rainforest

Notes:

I spotted this moth around the courtyard as I went for breakfast at the pousada in Parque do Caraca.

This looks like a moth with a Groucho Marx mustache minus the spectacles :)

thanks Matt. I can't find any photos online of any Metria species, so I'll just take your word for it. How did you ID it?
Looks like Metria binea...body markings seem consistent.
