Field Notes

Description:

orange and black, about 3" wingspan

Habitat:

rainforest near waterfalls

Notes:

this butterfly was extremely co-operative. I saw it on the walkway out to the devil's throat at Iguazu Falls. after landing on my beard, it let me pick it up later. strangely enough, this is not the first butterfly or moth that has landed on my beard.
