Crocodile fish
Papilloculiceps longiceps
-5.43333, 123.767
Field Notes
Description:
Crocodile fish get their name from their crocodilian-like head. They are extremely well camouflaged, blending into coral rubble and sandy patches where they are often spotted. Like the other benthic reef predators, the crocodile fish are ambush predators, relying on naive fish and excellent camouflage.
