Field Notes

Description:

Praying mantis are predatory insects that use their two front legs to grab prey. The green variations in particular will mimic leaves both in colouration and behaviour. By rocking back and forth and moving with jerking motions they resemble leaves moving in the wind. If you hold a praying mantis to close to your face they will jump on it (speaking from experience..)
