Field Notes

Description:

Small bird with red top of head and throat and upper chest.

Habitat:

Open patch of grassland near a small pond along an open space trail within the city limits. We have a feeder with mixed seed for wild birds about ten feet from where this bird was located.

Notes:

Length less than six inches. Probably a male with the bright red color.

Species ID Suggestions
