Field Notes

Description:

This is the actual organism that represents fungi. This web-like mat will grow and spread beneath the soil or inside of wood until conditions are proper for fruiting. The mushroom you end up seeing is the fruit of the organism, akin to an apple on a tree. Each step you take in soil impacts up to 300 miles of mycelium.
