Description:

Dark gray overall with short, cocked tail and white eyelids that flash when blinked. Legs are longer.

Habitat:

Inhabits swift flowing mountain streams; less frequently found along mountain ponds and lakes.

They definitely are interesting birds! One of my favorite to spot!
Dippers are such interesting birds! Although they are a songbird, they can fly(swim) under water to get the fish eggs, tiny creatures that they love to eat from the bottom of swift streams. They love salmon eggs!
