In Kagoshima, every year about 10,000 spend the winter. Cranes as far as the eye can see...

Only stumbled upon these guys after hitching a lift with some kids going to high school. They sure took us for an adventure!

They are very famous for dance, calls. NG has good documentary on this bird.
