Description:

This tree was being overgrown by a parasitic tree I at first thought might be a strangler fig, but I don't believe those are found in east Africa.

Habitat:

Ruins of Gedi, near Watamu Kenya.

Strangler figs are found all over the world in the tropics, I've seen them in Kenya, in Kakamega Forest Reserve.
