Field Notes

Description:

Native ground dwelling bird roughly a foot in hight. Very distinct clear whistle like call "bob-WHITE".

Habitat:

Fields and grasslands, open woods

Notes:

Heard its unique call before I saw him. Not sure if a local game club released any nearby. It's been a while since i have heard or seen any in the area. I do remember hearing them in nearby Middletown growing up.
