I do not know where you got but commonly seen this bird near dirty small ponds or moist bushes. now in summer fresh water ponds are very few.
Ashish ,thanks for the ID suggestion. This means that I need to remove one of the two pics. I have another spotting which looks like Red Wattled Lapwing. I was a little uncertain about this one. Turns out it is the same species.
