That is one big Harvestman, all the harvestmen I've seen are all skinny.
Yes guys it belong to the Arachnida Family, and it seems to be very common in the coastal temperate rain forest of Chile, it was the first time that i saw one though...
Well I don't know about that! We need an arachnid specialist here. And yes Wikipedia helps a lot, but only as reference.
Thanxzzz Carolina Wikipedia does help a lot! Interesting though is that I presume the HIND LEGS of this guy are the "big" ones, for either scaring off enemies or for a specialized feeding purpose...?
Yes, koixtreme. It belongs to an order of arachnids. You guys can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opiliones
I would say a spider or at least that creature belongs to the arachnids...also very new to me. I know you get spiders which look like certain insects in order to live within their community...have you got any bug that maybe looks like that spider-bug?
Thanks Carolina i was gabs smack when I saw this interesting, fascinating, full of character creatures. I got more question now, what is it?
No, Gina! It is not a spider, but it looks like one isn't?
Wow! very very interesting, Patricio this fascinating creature is it a kind of spider? and how does it moves, is it forward with the claw( if its claw) or does it moves pulling it? is it common in Chile? sorry for all my question but really I never seen anything like that before.
