Field Notes

Description:

This lizard is about 16 inches long. Dark ring around it's neck and has a spiny tail. The largest of the Oplurus species.

Habitat:

Found in the dry forests of Western Madagascar.

Notes:

The picture is taken in a wildlife park West of Antananarivo. The third picture shows him assessing me as a threat.
